Is meat bad to eat?

Then (Abraham) ran to the herd and selected a choice, tender calf and gave it to a servant, who hurried to prepare it. He then brought some curds and milk and the calf that had been prepared, and set these before them. While they ate, he stood near them under a tree. (18:7-8)

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
"He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows enough to refuse evil and choose good.

GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
He will eat cheese and honey until he knows how to reject evil and choose good.

King James Bible
Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

'And [Peter] saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: wherein were all manner of four-footed beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.' (Acts 10: 1113.)

Bible land was generally hot, sunny and arid. People did not have aspirin for inflammation, nor cold showers, nor a drug store to buy soothing creams. There wasn't even much grass many places in deserts, goats are a better animal there as cows too easily destroy what little vegetation there is in a desert. Goats manage with thorns and such, better. How on Earth did people manage? Were there laws on pasteurization? Was honey cooked to kill botulism spores? Were people aware of spores? What did mothers feed their toddlers? Did high serum cholesterol levels cause heart disease? Did G-d warn us?

Pooled raw milk was allowed to sour naturally at room temperature. After removal of the fat by churning, the casein in the sour skimmed milk was heat precipitated at 40°, 50°, 60°, and 70°C in a water bath, and the curd was recovered by filtering through sterile cheese cloth.

Microbial analysis of raw milk, sour milk, and ayib indicated that heat treatment of the curd was effective at higher temperatures (Table 2). At these temperatures the time required for casein precipitation was also low. Heating the curd at 70°C for 55 minutes at pH 4 destroyed most of the microorganisms. The low pH also inhibited the proliferation of most surviving microorganisms. The high degree of contamination of market ayib could be due to either low curd cooking temperatures or addition of various plant materials to the finished product to give it desirable flavor, the packaging of ayib with Musa leaves, or other unhygienic handling practices.

How did anyone survive without laboratories? Why weren't microscopes invented sooner? Why are there any Ethiopians left? What did they do before modern European man visited them?

Is it possible, that all we know about killing micro-organisms isn't exactly right? Have we become sterile freaks at the expense of some good health? What is the etimology of the word: 'sterile'? Was arthritis as common as it is now?

There are many questions. Do we really know all the answers? Do we just need prayer? Could be.

Hi YaHaLoma (and Everyone),

Have you tried sprouting the grains? I hope you are enjoying! (:

Well, then, after more research, I'll be seeing about getting some wheat berries from my lhfs, and give it a try. I think that since I can handle the Ezekiel bread, I should be able to handle the sprouted wheat. I have taken a supplement in the past that had barley sprouts in it, but don't recall if I had any trouble with it, since I was taking it before I was aware gluten made me ill. I am hesitant to take it again, as it is spendy, and wouldn't want it to be something that would make me sicker!

I'll keep you posted. I do have a dehydrator, something I use often, just need to get the berries. I don't like olives (though I love the oil), and am disgusted by green peppers, so there will be modifications, lol.

Ezekial bread is baked. You might do better with Essene bread. Malted literally means sprouted. Barley malt is sweet from barley sprouts. Baked bread has some starch, has to, no? Add sugar to it from barley, maybe that's the problem there?
YAHaloma Comment by YAHaloma on December 15, 2008 at 10:31pm
It's the gluten in the wheat and barley. I can eat sprouted "Ezekiel" bread, so long as there is not malt barely to sweeten it in there, so I MIGHT be able to get away with the raw bread recipe, now that I think about it.

Thanks, I'll see what I come up with.

Use pistacchios instead of almonds and millet, kamut or rye instea of wheat sprouts. Have you made raw wheat sprout 'bread' before? What reaction do you get from barley sprouts?

Yes, Ishmael was one of Avraham Avinu's sons. Also he had other men in his household who made covenant along with him to G-d. They learned from him. Some probably moved East.

Thank you for the recipes, Raw 1, but I forgot to mention. I am allergic to a few things: nuts (except pastachios), wheat (gluten, really), and barely (worst gluten culprit).

We don't seem to understand how each flavor helps us balance physically, spiritually, mentally or emotionally. The Asians understand this with Tibetan, Chnese and Inian traditional 'medical' systems. There is something of value in each culture, and something amiss in each culture, and God is within each of us. We need each other. We need to have some understanding and links between cultures. I believe we can all get along with each other here and there, as long as we respect each other's individualities. Sweet, sour and salt (french fries and catsup) are needed to offset spiritual imbalance. That's why we crave those foods so much maybe, or why they are pushed on us??

That's because so many Americans are imbalanced spiritually. We may have to knit all cultures together to get the whole picture.

Ya'Kov, I hear feta served outside the US is less salty. Is that true?
Peace,
